Media Project Continues
CSS in cooperation with Media Iinstitute Fojo continues cooperation with a series of workshops on Media Literacy. In March 2012 a follow-up workshop as well as a new two-day workshop was arranged by the Centre.

A group from Finland - 28 members of the Finnish-Belarusian Friendship Society - visited the Swedish Centre and met our students, studying Finnish and/or Swedish.

Course of Media Literacy
The Mediainstitute Fojo (city of Kalmar, Sweden) in cooperation with the Swedish centre in Minsk starts a series of seminars on Media Literacy addressed to young people aged 18 – 21.

Over 20 Swedish language students came to our centre on the 8th April to listen to the lecture of Margarethe Műntsing, Sweden, who was talking about Schools in Sweden in general and Children in need of special help in particular. The lecture enjoyed a great success with the public and was followed by an active discussion. Thanks, Margarethe! We hope to see you again in Minsk!

Students, studying Swedish at the CSS and other places in Minsk, got the possibility to listen to the thrilling lecture on Swedish mentality. The lecture was delivered by Fredrik Bergman, teacher from St.Sigfrids folk high school, Växjö.

The Swedish Institute arranged presentations of Swedish educational programmes for Belarusian students. The seminars took place in Homel, Hrodna and Minsk between the 28th and 30th of November.

Questions of language and identity in the saami communities of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The lecture, hold at the Swedish Centre on the 16th of November 2006, was conducted by Ville Söderbaum, expert on Saami questions and teacher of Saami language at the Uppsala University.

On the 3d of May 2006, the CSS teachers hold the seminar "Tendencies in Swedish Language". Among the issues, discussed at the seminar, there was the process of development of Swedish language, the existing norms and modern influences, as well as new words in Swedish and their origine.

On the 9th of February 2006, about 30 students learning Swedish in Minsk attended the seminar "To Work as an Interpretor", which took place at the Centre for Swedish Studies.

In December 2005 the Centre for Swedish studies continued with lectures in Swedish country studies.

The Swedish Institute and the Office in Minsk of Swedish Embassy in Moscow arranged two seminars on possibilities for Belarusian students to study in Sweden.

On the 11th of November the Centre for Scandinavian Studies in cooperation with the Belarusian High Folk School (BNTU) hold a seminar in Swedish culture and education. The event was hosted by the Scientific Library of the Belarusian National Technical University.

United Net-Works in EHU
From the 16th to the 25th of January the European Humanities University hosted the archive of United Net-Works, Sweden. This project was part of the archive’s international tour in the year 2003 – 2005, and was realized thanks to the support of the Swedish Institute and the EHU. In the run of the visit, Minsk branch of United Net-Works was established.
